A brief update about Stillwater Cat Haven.  We have utilized our facebook site most often, yet maintain this blogspot site with some photos and history which should provide some interest. 

This year we have tried to downsize our operations yet it seems there have been more community colony issues which make this impossible!  Joan and Don are now 82 years old and need to consolidate and relieve these efforts.

We continue to monitor colony sites, including Anderson River Park.  More people seem to feel the park is a place to drop off new kittens and others, many times keepiing the moma cats at home and allowing unprepared kittens to struggle and perhaps survive with the accomodation of others at the park.  This results in a huge out of control situation, an irresponsible action of an uncaring public.

Recently we were working to stabilize a non-owned community colony of cats.  Joan trapped 2 very pregnant females the same evening; one contained 4 kittens and the other 5.  Those 2 would have added 9 more to this group.  We are left with the satisfaction of providing control at this location, but realize there are many other uncontrolled pregnant females adding to the community cat populations;  it is a continuing growing population issue without enough community concern to stop this increasing numbers problem.

We continue to hope for financial assistance and a greater involvement  with our community in solutions to this situation.
